I decided I needed a new name for publication and had decided on Amanda Paige which were the names I had chosen for my boys had they been girls. To my chagrin, I found out that there is already an Amanda writing Irish Revolution manuscripts. So, since I want to market mine called Redemption for the Devil, I decided I better choose something else.
I remember a character in a Victoria Holt novel I read in junior high named Chantal. Since that is close to my real last name, I chose that. Jillian was a choice of name for my second son (suggested by the first son who was seven at the time). I debated the British spelling of Gillian, since I like to set my stories in the British Isles, but I decided on the American version, because, after all, I am an American. (How’s that for a long sentence?)
So, here I am, Jillian Chantal. It may all be for naught but I’m going to give it a go.
