GCCRWA

The Gulf Coast Chapter of the Romance Writer’s of America is one of the best groups of ladies I know. We may have our share of dramas but at the end of the day. we all respect and love each other. It is a very diverse group. We have members that have written over 30 books and some that are just starting their journeys in writing.  We write contemporary, paranormal, inspirational, historical, erotica, and fantasy. I love how we all support each other and offer encouragement, no matter what the genre.  Today’s meeting was another great one. We learned from Curtiss Ann Matlock about the writer’s life and how to encourage yourself.  Her talk was inspirational. She has a great sense of humor and it was a joy to listen to  her.  I got to sit with a member that I didn’t know too well and enjoyed chatting with her and hearing about her process.

Rode over to the meeting with my friend, Elizabeth, and it was good to catch up with her and her life.  She gave me some great advice on a plot point for Surfer Bride.  Gotta get back to that one soon.  Planned to work on it a bit today but came back with a touch of a headache-possibly due to the rain storm. So, I am watching Jaws and blogging instead.

I always return from a meeting inspired, rejuvenated, and ready to dive back in. Today was no exception. Except for the headache, that is.

Refreshed, invigorated, and ready to write. Without the encouragement and gentle arm-twisting from the group, I would never have queried an editor–and it only took six years to do it. Now, the wait is on. THanks for your support. It means a lot. Rita VF
