Here’s A New Word I Bet Ya Didn’t Know

I consider myself (and so do many local judges) a wordsmith. I love words and have quite a mass of them in my head! LOL!  Here’s a new one for me today: Deuteragonist.  How’s that for a mouthful?  It means the person second in importance to the protagonist in a drama.  It comes from the Greek- I guess we could have figured it out since  dio, dos, deaux, etc mean two and the second part  “agonist” is the same in protagonist (which is also Greek and means ‘actor’) which is the person that the story is about.  Interesting word. Gonna have to slide it into some cocktail party conversation.  Soon.
