Writing Like a Maniac

I’ve got a story burning a hole in my head and I’ve been writing on it every spare moment. It’s weird because I started it two weeks ago and the first 4,000 words practically wrote themselves. Then, it slowed down. I went on my weekend getaway and on the way home, the rest of the story clicked into place and now it’s writing itself again. I just need to find the energy to keep up with it. I wrote over 2500 words last night after work and wanted to keep on but knew I needed to sleep. Now, I have the job that pays the bills to get to, but I’ll be back to work on this puppy as soon as I get a moment. It’s one I plan to send to Still Moments Publishing and I’m hoping they don’t think it’s the oddest thing they’ve ever read because it’s a doozy!

Happy writing!

I need to do some marathon writing. You are really motivating — well and you make me feel lazy. I’m trying to get into retirement mode but it isn’t happening. I need at least two life times to get in everything I want to do.

Don’t feel lazy, Lavada. I’m just hyper and can’t sit still without at least one or two things happening around me. It really is therapy for me- calms my mind. If you hung out with me for a week or so, you’d think I was the laziest thing around.

      I need more lifetimes, too.

Oooh, I LOVE stories that you just can’t stop writing. I’m in the midst of one myself right now. My husband came and checked on me 3 times last night, I spent so long writing. πŸ™‚ I hope the day job doesn’t keep you away from it for too long. πŸ™‚

Love it, Laurie. Esp that your hubs came to look for you. Keep on trucking! I just wrote 800 words at lunch. Rocking it.

I am so intrigued now! Can’t wait. You must thrive on burning it at both ends. Between your practice, your writing and the Silken Sands Conference – HOW DO YOU DO IT???????? You’re amazing.

Silken Sands is making me suicidal, Joan. The writing is all that’s keeping me sane. I’m so ready for that conference to be OVER!!!! I can tell you, as soon as it is, I’m getting into my car and bursting into tears. I’m saving up my breakdown for then.

Awww…at least you are down to single digits in the countdown to FREEDOM!!! Can’t wait to see you Saturday, and maybe you’ll feel better when we accomplish what is on the agenda for that day. At least it will be something off your to-do list.

Thanks Joan. It seems like every day it’s something else going off the rails. And I’m just ready to be done.
