Yeah.  It’s a mural of things Pensacola is famous for. I love the Spanish guy-  first settlement 1559-  blown away by a hurricane. They left and then settled in St Augustine as it is more sheltered from the storms.

        You have to admire them.
I am at the bottom of “Kentuckiana”, more Midwestern than Southern, but just over the Ohio they get every type of terrrible weather: tornadoes, ice storms, blowing snow, high winds, and once a hurricane even blew over us but hit So.Indiana hard, even Louisville suffered that time.
(I honestly don’t know why the settlers in Indiana didn’t get back in the wagons and travel a little more!)

Some of them might have moved on, but eventually others filled in.

Wow. That picture is a lot to unpack and I had to read your answer to Tonette to understand some of it. What a great depiction of your town’s history!

isn’t it cool?  It’s on a building downtown. I cut out all the cars in the parking lot.  LOL  so it sort of looks like a billboard, not the side of a building.  Duck butt, anyone??!?  LOL
