Snippet

I’m editing Runaway and got to this part and decided to share a little snippet.  This is in Rio with Evangeline in the back seat of a cab and Cecil in the front. After she thought they were going to have sex.

They rode back to the Copacabana in silence, he in the front seat, she in the back. As she sat there, mad that he’d gotten her worked up for nothing, she stared at the back of his head, wishing for the Glock. She noticed a small mole on the back of his neck and thought it would make a nice target. She giggled.

Cecil looked over his shoulder, “Forgive me?”

The cabbie said, “ah. A lover’s spat?”

Van snorted, “Not hardly. And, Cecil, no, I haven’t forgiven you. I was back here deciding where to put the bullet in the back of your head.”

The cabbie roared in laughter, “Sir, I envy you. A woman with such passion, ah. Yes. I envy you.”
