Whispered Lies

I finaly got a chance to read Whispered Lies yesterday. I got it at the book signing at Silken Sands Writer’s Conference. Signed by the lovely Dianna Love.  It is one in a series called the BAD Agency series.  These are written by Dianna Lova and Sherrilyn Kenyon.

The hero in this one, Carlos, was amazing. The writers of this book nailed him as the alpha with a soft spot for the heroine. It was a great story. I highly recommend it.  I’m going to get the next one in the series as soon as I get a chance.  The first was really good. It is called Phantom in the Night and I read it on a flight back home from New York a couple years ago.

The one thing I did learn from reading this book yesterday is that I’m pissing in the wind with my own writing.  I can never hope to write love scenes with the emotional intensity that these ladies can.  I am in awe of their abilites.  Rock on Dianna and Sherrilyn-

  1. I’m glad you like this book and recommend it. I do NOT like you putting yourself and your writing down. You are talented beyond measure!!! Please know that and embrace it!!!!

    • Just being a realist, my friend! It’s ok, really. But I do cherish your opinion!

  2. Hi –
A friend of mine forwarded me this post. Thank you for reading WL and for the wonderful review. I have to say I’m humbled. Sherri said to tell you thank you as well and to keep writing no matter what.

I can not allow you to think you are not up to the task of writing. I had NEVER written a story of any sort until 2001 when I sat down to write my first book. I took lots of workshops – all I wanted to do was figure out how to write a story and had no thoughts of selling that first one, but I did. I certainly wasn’t holding my work up to the level of published authors so it was quite a surprise to sell and to get fan mail.

I know a woman in Alabama that I saw a couple times as an attendee at reader events. She had tinkered with a little writing, but didn’t consider herself a “writer.” I encouraged her to pursue her interest in writing every time I saw her. She has since finished a couple books, finaled in the GH, won several major contests and has an agent.

We all have our doubts along the way. I’m glad I had the chance to meet you in Pensacola at Silken Sands and hope to see you in Orlando for RWA. If you see me, please don’t hesitate to speak. It would make my day. 🙂

    • Dianna- you have no idea what your words meant to me today. Just the pick me up I needed. It is always nice to get a pep talk. I so enjoyed meeting you at Silken Sands and I love your books. I downloaded the latest on my Sony last night and can’t wait to dig in. I will definitely be in Orlando and will look you up. I appreciate your kindness,
