The Skeleton Key

watched this movie on Monday night when  got home from Tallahassee.  It was interesting. Not scary but it had dark and creepy scenery. I liked it. Had not seen it before so it was nice to see a new seasonal movie. It came out in 2005 but I never made it to the theater to see it.

Gena Rowlands was delightfully evil in it and I loved the line she said to Kate Hudson’s character, something along the lines of “I believe you’ve broken my legs.”  She said it in such a nonchalent way, it was almost funny.

I enjoyed the New Orleans/bayou setting as well. The outside of the house looked like Oak Alley to me, but it wasn’t as the end credits showed an aerial view and the tree line was wrong.

Of course, the bad accents for the people that are supposed to be from New Orleans annoyed me to no end. Sometimes you have to overlook that and just go along for the ride.

Being from Louisiana, it always KILLS me when they slaughter our accents. Mais! The movie wasn’t bad and it was pretty cool because some parts were shot not far from where I live. I liked the story idea, but not sure I could handle listening to them speak ever again, lol

And Danica- I would’ve thought the end would freak you out because you don’t like that stuff. LOL!

Bad accents always bother me in movies. 🙂
I had to go watch the movie trailer to remember if I’d seen the movie. I had, and it was good. I always remember books I’ve read but have a hard time recalling movies. Just how my brain works.

Ciara- I have the opposite issue. I can start a new book (or think it’s new) and get about 20 pages in and then remember I’ve read it. I’ve had to start a log to stop myself from re-buying books. I guess because I read so many, I forget the titles.

I’ve never seen this movie, but my hubby has. He says I’ll like it. Might have to get this one rented soon. I like Kate Hudson in the few movies I’ve seen of hers.
