Ever been to a fancy restaurant and they remove your white napkin to give you a black one? Wonder why? When my son graduated, we went to a posh restaurant for dinner after the ceremony. I had on a navy blue dress. Everyone else in my group had on light colored clothes, including the men. The table was set with white napkins. The waitress came over and took mine and handed me a black one. You know why??
LINT! The answer is LINT!! They do this so that the person wearing dark clothes doesn’t stand up after dinner with white lint all over his/her clothes. How’s that for service? Pretty cool, huh?

Things that make you go hmmmmmm. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing that with us. I do learn alot of interesting things on Fridays.

*blinks* that’s…really interesting and it just goes to show that when I thought I was at a fancy restaurant, I haven’t because I’ve never seen that before! LOL

Seriously? Now THAT’s service. 🙂 I’ve never actually had that happen, so I’m guessing I haven’t been to a restaurant at that level…yet. 🙂 I need to sell mor books. lol

I’m like Danica in that I thought I’d been in an upscale restaurant but guess not. Or maybe I had on light colored clothes. Ummmm And, I’ve never read this in a story either.
And, I agree I need to sell more books.
I know I’ve mentioned it before Jillian but I really enjoy your theme days. How you do so much is beyond me but I’m glad you do.

Thanks Lavada. Sometimes I don’t know how I do it either. I just plug along. I never heard napkin thing either til my son’ s girlfriend who works in a high end restaurant told me. Feel free to use it in a story. That’s why I came up with it.
