Another Movie

So, I went to see another movie this weekend. This is one I’ve long been aticipating since it has some of my favorite actors as well as it’s a remake of a series I saw back in the day and I also read the book back in the dark ages of my life. It’s John Le’Carre’s Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. It came out in England early in November and #1 son saw it then. He tortured me several times by letting me know he’d seen it and I hadn’t. Brat.

I liked it although I felt the pacing was quite slow. I like movies to move faster than this one did. It was a great story and well done atmospherically, but I think it could’ve been better with a faster pace.

It has Gary Oldman, Mark Strong, Colin Firth, Ciaran Hinds, Benedict Cumberbatch (and if you haven’t seen him in Sherlock, you’re missing out), John Hurt and Tom Hardy. A wonderful cast Just spectacular. Here’s the book trailer:

  1. Huh…I’ve never heard of it. This might be one of those movies I catch on a Sunday afternoon when football season is over *grin*

    • Hehe. Yeah you will have to, Miss Football Fan.

  3. Hmmm. This probably isn’t my cup of tea, but my husband might enjoy it. So…did you figure out who the mole was before the movie ended?

    • I had an idea, but the ending is ambiguous. You don’t realize it’s ambiguous til you leave the theatre, either. The one I thought was it, was but then again, maybe not!!

      • Ooh, maybe this IS a movie I’d like then. A thinker, huh?

  4. I watched Larry Crowne. Like the one you watched it was a little slow. One thing about movies this time of year is that there is nothing new on TV. Mostly reruns.

    • I know what you mean about re-runs, I think they do it because of bowl games, etc take away the viewers. I love to go to movies and hadn’t been in months as nothing was out I wanted to see, but it seems like a lot are hitting now.

    • I’ll have to check out Larry Crowne. Haven’t heard of it.

  5. I’ve never heard of this. I guess I’ll have to check it out.
