I had a pretty good weekend but as usual, it went by too fast. We had our GCCRWA meeting on Saturday which was great as I got to see some of my favorite people. I just adore some of those ladies and they make me feel good about what I have to offer. I really think it’s important to give back to the chapter. When I started trying to get published, there were ladies in the chapter who helped me along. Now that I’ve had some minor success, I believe I should return the favor by helping the members who are just starting their journey to publication. Alas, the sad part is that we have some members who don’t feel that way. It’s sad that we have members who never, or rarely, come back to share their knowledge once they get the big contract. Don’t get me wrong, some do, but quite a few don’t. I’m a firm believer in returning at least two-fold what you were given. I wish more people had that philosophy.
I also had the opportunity to see The Woman in Black with Daniel Radcliffe in the title role. I’ve seen the stage version and the story varied somewhat but I liked it. Very atmospheric and dark. Daniel did an excellent job in the role. He’s quite a wonderful actor and I’m proud that he’s made the transition to adult actor with what appears to be ease. I recommend the film. It’s along the lines of a Hitchcock film and I love those.
I did not watch the Super Bowl. Sorry. No one I cared about was playing. And besides, I couldn’t miss Downton Abbey, could I?
You certainly gave me a push which I will appreciate forever. AMazing how much you get done in a day, though. RB

I’m glad you dove in and submitted, Rita. Obviously you are a wonderful writer since both things you sent in got accepted. Keep on keeping on!

HA. I didn’t watch the game either. I was in the room, but messing around on the computer. I’m glad football is over. No onto basketball and March Madness! To me, that’s a little more tolerable.

I’m glad I wasn’t alone in not watching the game. Seems like even the folks in England were up watching it.

I don’t watch football at all. It seems this one was a good game and my guys enjoy it. Makes for an opportunity for a movie or nap or both.
I feel exactly as you do about participating and buy into putting back so the cup doesn’t run dry. Over the years I’ve hit times where I want to say something but have come to see that it’s way of people and has always been that 10% of the people do 100% of the work. But, I am learning to say no better. There just comes a time.
Loved the trailer. My daughter will love that movie.

Somehow, I knew we’d be on the same page on all this, Lavada. I agree totally about the 10% doing the work AND I do say no, sometimes people won’t take that as an answer, tho. I’m on the board of a non profit and they keep asking me to be president. I finally told them if they asked me one more time, I was leaving. They need to take what I feel like I have time to give. You know?
Yes, I think your daughter would like the movie. For sure.

I was chasing around after my two-year old grandaughter all weekend, so missed all but snatches of the game. As it turns out, I was also getting a nasty cold. Sigh.
Question. I find myself interested in The Women In Black trailier, but I don’t do spooky. I buy into that stuff to easily. Scary? Not scary?

Glad you had a fun weekend with granddaughter. Lots of giggles I bet.
I didn’t find it scary. Tense, maybe, but not scary to me. Atmospheric. And suspenseful. Like Hitchcock.
