So, I’m off with my girl friends for the weekend. A much needed respite. However, we had some tornado activity in the area where I am. The folks at the hotel made us gather in the laundry room while there was a tornado warning in the area. That was totally not fun. We made the best of it but we had to stand around for about 40 minutes. Ugh.
All is well right now. More rain expected today. Let’s hope we get to stay out of the utility room!

So glad you guys are okay. You may want to make a “Utility Emergency Kit” stocked with a deck of cards, poker chips, peanuts, and bottles of water. That way you can at least throw an impromtu poker party! Make lemonadefrom lemons! Sometimes the best times are had in unusual circumstances. Be careful. Love you!

Thanks. Kate. We did finally dash up to the room and grab margaritas. Lol. Love you, too!

Oh, dear. You stay safe my friend! And, next time you get sent to the laundry room, do what my friend and I did. We were having dinner at a swanky resort when the fire alarm went off. We had just ordered a bottle of wine and poured and no way were we leaving that on the table. So we took it with us. There were folks outside in robes and towels (spa guests), dressed for dinner, or dressed casual. No one besides us had wine. Our husbands thought they were going to have to physically protect us the way that wine was getting eyed. lol There really was a a fire, but a small one and about 45 minutes later, we were back at our table. And we paid for the wine, which we hadn’t yet. lol
Here’s hoping the rest of your weekend is more fun (and very safe).

Hehehe. I love that story, Laurie. Good plan! All is well now, it’s super cold but it’s dry.

Yikes the laundry room. You’ve had some great suggestions. Wine, survival kit. Take notes might be a story in all of this.

Wow! What an awful evening. But I know you – you’ll make it into a fabulous scene in your next book!
