Sorry for no post in a while. I went to visit a friend in Atlanta Metro area and while I was gone, my mom had to head to emergency room again and now today, she was there yet again. She now, on top of everything else, has shingles. She’s in a lot of pain. They are keeping her overnight because of the shingles. She didn’t get admitted to hospital when she had a stroke, but they admitted her over shingles. I think I’m in an alternate universe where up is down and down is up!
I also missed posting a Friday Fact. Sorry. Had one planned but then was stressed over going up to Atlanta and trying to decide if I should turn around and come back home immediately. Friday Fact wasn’t so important then.
Oh, no! Shingles is SO painful from what I hear. I’m getting the vaccine as soon as I turn 60. Jillian, I’m so sorry. You’ve had so much on your plate of late and just as the worry for your mother levels off, this happens. Hang in there, my friend!

Thanks, Laurie. I’m haniging in there. I hear shingles is worse than childbirth and there’s no cute little baby to make it worthwhile.

At your Mom’s age, I’m not sure the cute baby at the end would be any less of a pain than the shingles. (little lol?)

I had the same response to the baby thing that Laurie had. My mother had shingles and they were painful but she got over them pretty fast. Then a friend got them. Same thing. But I know it has to be worse for your mother as she’s already fighting health issues. This has certainly been a year. My thoughts are with you and your family Jillian. Take care of yourself through all of this.

Lol re: baby. And yeah, it’s been a year for sure with my family. I appreciate the good wishes, Lavada.

Shingles is commonly seen in elderly people, but on occasion it is detected among young people too. It comes from the same virus varicella-zoster, which gave us chicken-pox. If proper care is not taken you may loose your eyesight or even suffer from facial paralysis. Shingles are also known as herpes zoster which spreads through your skin in the form of a rash or blister similar to chicken-pox. It is associated with grueling pain, itchiness, burning sensation and sometimes even numbness…
