The term to “have one’s druthers” is slang for having a choice. It comes from a contraction of “would rather.” I love to use it. In fact, if I had my druthers, I’d always use it even when I would rather not. HEHEHEHE. Sorry, I know that was lame.
Anyway, the phrase dates from the late 1800s. I challenge you to use it at least once this week.

Ah, gees. We’ve got the 6 and 3 year old granddaughters with us for the weekend. Please don’t make me try to explain this word to them. lol
By the way, the fire near my daughter’s house is now 33% contained and the eastern flank (her side of the fire) is one they are feeling pretty comfortable about and have moved to patrols, rather than active fire-fighting on that side. So hopefully no issues for them except smoke. 70 homes lost, 28,000 acres burned. Sad. I’m glad to get the grandkids out of there for a bit. Daughter says it smells like a campfire outside and inside their home.

Wow. The fire sure has done a lot of damage. I hate that. I wish some of this daily rain we’ve had all summer would head that way and douse that thing. I’m glad they seem to be getting it contained.

Yes, I never thought, living in the Pacific Northwest, that I’d be doing rain dances. And it looks like we’ll get a bit of rain next week. However, before that, dry lightening tomorrow. They say this fire won’t be fully out until it snows this year.
