On the Mend- Sort of

Today is the first day I’ve driven myself to work since the accident on June 16. I am still in some pain but I am proud to say that I made it to the office in one piece. I can take the arm out of the sling to exercise it and so I took it out to drive but I still guarded it well and didn’t try to do too much.

I spent the second weekend in a row in the house with my foot propped up- it’s hard to do much that way so I read a few books.  That’s one good- if we can call any of it good- thing from the accident- I have knocked out 7-8 books on my TBR stack.  I am whittling that puppy down a bit.

Wednesday, I head back to the orthopedist for x-rays and am hoping there has been some healing going on in there.  Being slowed down is not fun.

  1. I’m glad you posted this as I’ve been thinking about you a lot. Falling is no fun and for some reason there seems to be an epidemic of it this year. One of my friends broke her ankle while vacationing in a rural third world country. Had to have surgery. Flying home was an ordeal and she had to upgrade to even make it.

Keep us posted on how it goes. In the meantime sending a cyber hug.

    • Oh no. I hate to hear that about your friend Lavada. That’s terrible. And scary. Yipes.

Thanks for the good wishes. And the hug. You’re super!

  2. So glad to hear that healing is progressing. The physical pain is bad enough but to be laid-up adds to the pot.
The prayers continue until you hare all mended! (Even then,I’ll send up a few!)

    • Thanks for the prayers.

  3. I’m keeping the good thoughts coming your way.

    • Thanks Flossie. I need them.

  4. Yay! So glad you’re starting to feel better! I was out of town a couple days, so just got a chance to respond to this. But I had to explain to my husband who was driving yesterday why I was fist-pumping the air in happiness. I’ll be praying the news tomorrow is good!

    • Thanks Laurie. Hope you had a nice time being gone. Yay for out of town. And I feel good today, too. I actually did some edits on Cali’s story.
