I looked through the gate and was surprised not to find a garden. Or a long lane leading up to a beautiful home. I’m with Laurie what does it lead into?

you’ll be surprised to hear that it leads under the Champs- Elysees to get to the other side of the road and to the metro station. It’s at the Pont Alexandre Bridge over the Seine near the water. The street runs above it.
