I have a story that has been kicking my rear end for months. I think I actually started writing it before NaNoWriMo- stopped for the madness of the November writing- and then tried to pick it up again. I haven’t been as dedicated to the writing gig as I normally am as I was a bit down in the dumps about sales figures, but I think all writers are in that boat right now as there is just so much content out there for readers to choose from.
In the last couple of weeks, I got up, dusted off my backside as well as my keyboard and have finally finished the story this week. Well before my October of this year deadline. Soon enough that my editor has time to edit it in July.
There are a group of about 100 writers in this project. We’re all writing a story- any kind of romance story- some urban fantasy, some contemporary romance, some historical, some paranormal…etc. The only thing is, they all have to have these five common elements:
(1) a character named Max (2) lost keys (3) a stack of books (4) a storm (5) and a house that is haunted or rumored to be haunted.
Mine is paranormal- and don’t tell, but it’s mostly spooky-not romance- although it does have an element of attraction between the main characters. 🙂 I can’t wait to see what others do with these elements. Going to be fun!
That sounds like fun!

I think it will be so much fun to see what everyone does. The five elements give so much leeway!

That’s totally cool. Will these come out as an anthology or individual stories?

Individual stories. Each will have a badge on them denoting them as common elements stories.
