Killer Elite- A Movie Review

I went to see Killer Elite. Why? You may ask. What a question. Think about it. Clive Owen, Jason Statham, and Robert DeNiro. What’s not to like? Well, there were a couple of things. One was there were several lines of dialogue that were so cliche, they made  me groan. Mega groan.  Another thing was the amount of ammo that was sacrificied in the making of this film. Sad really. They used enough bullets to save several third world countries.  One last thing was that it was hard to know who to root for at times in this movie. Who was bad and who was good was up in the air. And on second thought, maybe that was a good thing to like about the flick. It wasn’t predictible in that respect.

Jason was quite yummy as the torn and tortured contract killer. DeNiro was wise and an elder statesman contract killer and Clive, well, Clive was his usual charming self. Albeit a contract killer. So, you see the dilemma on who to like? But I guess I should’ve known that would be an issue. I mean, really– look at the title!

Over all, I enjoyed the movie. It was good and had an intriguing plot. A little dash of romance didn’t hurt either.

  1. I had my doubts about this movie as well although I love anything with Robert DeNiro. I don’t know if I’ll watch it now though.

  2. umm, this one wasn’t on my list to go see. Now I’ll wait until it comes out on cd. I did go see The Help after you gave it a review. Both my daughter and I loved it. I was about half way through the book when I saw it. This is one that both the book and movie are good.

    • I agree about The Help. I’m glad you trust me enough to read my reviews and think about what I said before you dive in. I try to be honest and if I don’t really recommend something, tell you. The funny thing is, I’ve been blasted in comments that I don’t let through over some of my opinions, but it’s my blog and my opinion and I’m not going to let someone intimidate me into backing off on how I feel. I think it’s important to stay true to yourself.

This is def one for the dvd player.

  3. One of these days I’m going to find time to go to the movies again. I have a gift card and everything. Just no time. ;(

    • I know all about the lack of time. I finally had to get away from the keyboard and do something else on Sunday afternoon.
