Liebster Blog Award

EEK! I’ve been nominated for the liebster blog award and this one is tough! Maria Hammarblad is a strict taskmaster so I better get cracking.

The rules are:

Thank and link back to the person who presented you with the award- THANKS MARIA! Add the award logo to your blog.
Answer the eleven questions posted for the nominees.
Share eleven random facts about yourself.
Write eleven questions for your nominees and then…
Nominate eleven worthy blogs and contact those bloggers so they know about it! (No tag backs.)

The Liebster Blog Award is given bloggers who have less than 200 followers. Liebster is a German word meaning: sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing and welcome.

ELEVEN QUESTIONS AND MY ANSWERS:

1. Do you have your blogging planned in advance?

I have two theme days a week- Wordless Wednesday and Friday Facts. The rest of the week is whatever I’m moved to write.

2. What is your favorite book of all time?

WOW. I don’t think there is only one. I love all kinds of stories and I’d hate to say there is only one that stands out head and shoulders above the rest. I will say, though, I have a particular affinity to a consulting detective who was my first British male crush. He goes by the name Sherlock.

3. Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character? If yes, who?

Oh yeah, and anyone who reads this blog will tell you that it was usually whatever character that Alan Rickman played. One of my favorite roles of his is as Sinclair in Close My Eyes. He was handsome, sexy and clever. Just what I love in a man.

4. What is your favorite social network site?

I like Twitter for the fast pace and great links to articles.

5. Is there something you must have when writing?

No. I like to say I’m easy. Not cheap, but easy.

6. If you could go anywhere (real or fictional), where would it be?

I’d love to go to Cairo. In the early 1900s when all the ladies wore lovely clothes and hats with dust covers. It seems like such a romantic time. Of course, I’d probably choke on the dust, complain about the heat and basically whine til I could get back home.

7. As a reader, what annoys you most in books?

Stupid characters. I can’t abide it when they do really bone-headed things. The other thing I hate that I’ve harped on a bit here is a story that has no ending in book one but continues into book two where the publisher is manipulating me to buy another book. If the series is good enough, that trick is not necessary. Each book should have a complete story. Ask Aristotle. He knew.

8. Of all mythological creatures, which would you most want to see come alive?

No brainer here- unicorns!! I love them. So pretty and sweet (at least I think they would be- who knows. they could be as mean as old nags that nip at your rear).

9. If you had a million dollars to give to a charity, what would you do with it?

I’d give it to cancer research. Too many lovely people have been taken from us by that cruel disease.

10. Do you believe in life on other planets?

Nope. I can’t say that I do. It’s intriguing, but I don’t think so.

11. If you could be anyone for a day, who would it be?

Emma Thompson because then I would know Alan Rickman. HEHEHEHE

  1. Congratulations on getting nominated, Jillian. I’ve never heard of this before, so I did a little research. It appears to be a blog to blog nomination. It started out as only needing to recommend 3-5 blogs, it looks like. Now, it’s 11? Yikes! I’m not sure I can meet that standard…or answer that many questions. lol

    • Yeah. I was afraid I couldn’t do it either. It was a lot of work. If you can’t, that’s cool. No pressure here.

  2. I knew there were multiple reasons I liked you!! Congratulations.

    • Thanks Shay. Afraid to ask. LOL! Like you bunches, too!

  3. I loved getting to know more about you with your answers. I’m going to pass on the award. It was sweet of you to include me but my life is so crazy right now that I don’t want to take any more on for fear I wouldn’t keep my commitment.

    • Tell me about crazy, Lavada. LOL! no worries.

  4. Great answers! It took me a whole evening while I half-watched a movie to do mine. 🙂

    • Took me a while, too, Patty. I’ll have to pop over and check yours out.

  5. You non-conformist you! A woman after my own heart. Thanks for nominating me. I needed to do a blog post so now I have to. Learned so much more about you.

    • Yep, that’s me. Non conformist. And you were NOT an afterthought. I had you in mind from the first! I noticed your blog needed a little love. Hehehe.
