This is my cover for The Tainted Keitre. It’s a New Orleans based murder mystery story and the cover artist, Dawne Dominique nailed it. It’s very atmospheric. I wanted creepy with moss on the trees, but I also wanted it to be sexy. She managed to pull it off. I love, love the scary red eyes in the woods, too. I adore her. She’s such a good listener and tries very hard to find the writer’s vision in her own artistic vision. Thanks again, Dawne.

This is absolutely gorgeous! The red eyes are perfect. The couple looks very natural together. Good-looking guy for sure. Yes, Dawne nailed it! Nothing better than a cover artist that really listens to author input. I have to give a shout out to her. You are so fortunate to have gotten her for this cover. I think she’s a keeper! 🙂 Congrats! Whenever you are ready to visit the blog with this one, come on over!!!!!

Yep, I agree about having a cover artist who listens and tries to merge her vision with yours. It’s quite a nice thing, This is the third cover I’ve gotten from her and she’s done superb on all of them. I actually re-read my cover questionnaire yesterday and she truly gave me everything I asked for in a way I never expected. I’m very pleased. The guy I told her the hero looks like is Eion Bailey who played in Once Upon a Time on NBC. He’s very hot!
I’ll be glad to visit you with this one.

That cover is AWESOME. Of course, being from the Pacific Northwest, we’re moss-lovers here. 🙂 But I love the look of it. That’s a cover that would make me pick up the book and take a second look in the book store.

Thanks Laurie! I agree about the awesomeness. It’s perfect for the story and it does appeal to the reader, I think. I love the moss on the trees, too. It was very important as the story has an element of a Louisiana swamp legend.

This is a terrific cover! If you only zoom in on the couple, it looks like the sweet romance that I enjoy so much, but MAN! Let your vision pan out and catch those creepy red eyes, and it sends a shiver up my spine! This cover has my attention and I look forward to “solving this mystery”. Congrats!!!

Thanks Joan. What you see is exactly what I wanted to convey and Dawne captured. I love this little story.

Pride in your cover is one of the most important things about a new release, if you ask me. I think the majority of people look at a cover first and then read the blurb, unless they already follow that author. You hit a homerun with this one!
