Five Favorite Things

The Secret Cravings writers are having a blog hop this weekend and we’re sharing a few of our favorite things like in the song. We’re also all doing some type of giveaway. I’m giving away some of my favorite things. Read on to see what you could win for leaving me a comment telling me a mere two of your favorite things. The contest is open to international entries as well.

Here goes: Five things that find favor with me:

1. Lindt chocolates. The extra creamy one is my absolute favorite. Although my normal go-to chocolate is dark, this extra creamy stuff is a treat.

2. Scarves. I love to wear scarves. I wear them year round because they can dress up a plain outfit quite nicely. They add a touch of color in the summer and a touch of warmth in the winter. They are multi-purpose and fun.

3. Tea. I drink tea all day long. My favorite for hot tea is Earl Grey but I will drink most any of it. I’m not as big a fan of green tea since it seems too puny to me. I like a robust, black tea. As to cold tea, I like mine straight. No sugar, no lemon, no anything to muddy the waters, so to speak.

4. Of course, anyone who has read this blog knows I can’t have a list of favorites without including my favorite actor of all time, Alan Rickman. My kids call him my alphabet man because he could be on the television or movie screen and recite the alphabet and I’d watch. Sadly, they’re right.

5. My book called Surf Break-. I love my town – it’s one of my favorite things and this story is based here where I live and pays homage to my favorite eating joint on the beach, Surf Burger.

The giveaway? Some chocolate, a scarf, some tea, an Alan Rickman movie and a e-copy of Surf Break. Leave me your comments and then hop on over to some of the other blogs. Here’s a link. 14674_2541024421320_759478737_a

I don’t care what kind, but I love the semi-sweet, very dark chocolate….I love hot tea, flavored, any flavors with lots of sugar….Good luck with the blog hop…Tabs

    • Thanks Tabs. I also love the dark semi-sweet chocolate. Thanks for commenting- and let me know if you try a scarf and how you like it

  6. Must be the voice! I could listen to him read the alphabet too! Whether he is being bad or good, he steals the show!

    • Ahh, yes, melissa. It’s the voice but it’s also the way he moves. Quite seductive. I saw him on broadway and man, he oozes sexuality even out to the fifth row where I sat. Lol. He’s def. a stealer.

  7. Sorry had to look up who Alan Rickman was, bad me. Then I was like OHHHH! now I know. I love a good strong glass of iced tea, no lemon please. My favorite things are of course my wonderful family (kids, granddaughter, husband, & dog, Louie). Then there’s hockey & with the lock out there hasn’t been much of it. We see some college & my husband plays but it’s just not the same. I love the beach but don’t see much of that in Ohio. AND a wonderful, smutty book. Yup, I wrote smutty. When someone asks what ya reading I reply smutt, love the looks I get back, lol

  10. I think the first time I saw him was in “Truly Madly Deeply.” His voice is so sedcutive, it’s like his fingers caress you even when he whispers.

    • Yes, Kj. That’s one of my favorite of his. Such a wonderful movie and when he warms his lips for her, I melt.

  11. I first saw him in “Truly Madly Deeply.” His voice is like a soft caress against bare skin … especially when he whispers.

  12. We just finished a great blog hop over at Evernight Publishing. My first and I loved it. Okay favorites. That first cup of coffee in the morning. Chai Tea, I found this a few years ago and am now hooked. Puppies, kitties, cats, and dogs. When I got to thinking I have a whole lot of favorite things. 🙂

    • I’m a chick no pic girl, myself, Darlene. But I do like the salon hair wash.

  15. What a great giveaway package, Jillian! I love your 5 favorite things. AR DOES have a mesmerizing voice and he’s a great overall package.
