I love the Sherlock Holmes series of books. I’ve adored them since I was a little kid. I think I’ve owned my complete collection since about the 3rd or 4th grade. I love all things Sherlockian. I have a little tidbit to share on this Friday with you about the author that I bet you didn’t know. We’ve all heard how he was fascinated by the occult so it’s not that that I intend to share even though that’s pretty cool, too.
Do you know what his career was (besides writing serial stories for The Strand magazine)? He was an opthamologist. Yep. An eye doctor. He did serve as a ship’s doctor in his career but he had an eye practice in Harley Street in London. He was Scottish and graduated from Edinburgh University. He later studied opthamology in Vienna and Paris.
Interesting fact — interesting man. Are you watching the spin off Elementary?

I’ve watched some of the episodes but Jonny Lee Miller seems a bit shrill in it. Lol

What an unusual occupation for a man with such an imagination.

Yeah. I know. He was a medical doctor and I think he based Watson on himself.
