Ancestor? My sister and I went with two of our cousins to find family graves when we went to North Carolina. It was moving to find that my grandfather ,(whom I never knew), an aunt,(who also died before I was born),another relatives and another aunt’s infant were together, very far out into the country, away from any family.
Great photo! My favorite vacation was about 10 years ago. I went to 8 cemeteries in Arkansas and Missouri, finding so many relatives. There’s something about acknowledging the links to our past that connects us to life somehow.

Oh, of course, in-laws; I know that is your (married) name. How fascinating that they founded a town.I would love to hear the stories.
