Blog Tour Continues

Today, I’m at two places yakking about MOON DANCE as well as being a klutz and my love for all things Alan Rickman. I’m also discussing hot heroes and hot jobs.

Here’s the link to the interview. This is Unabridged Andra.

Here’s the link to the hot post. Which is Books to Light Your Fire- really appropriate as my hero, Gabe, is a former firefighter.

EDITED TO ADD: I have the links backwards but go by them both anyway- these are some cool blogs!

Tuesday Tales- Rough

This week’s word is Rough. AND yeah, I’m still on the train story. I decided to move forward with it after all. See the other posts here.

“Look here, Rozzelle, that’s no way to behave with a lady present. Leave her be.” Win took a step forward as if to punch the other man.

Fiona pulled on Win’s arm. “Stop. Let him go by. He’s a waste of time.”

“Speaking of wastes of time, Barrington, I don’t know what you see in this little mouse when you have that nice, vibrant piece in your own compartment. How is the little wife anyway?” Rozzelle kept the smirk firmly in place as he taunted Win.

Win punched Rozzelle in the face. “Shut the hell up.”

Rozzelle shoved Win up against the wall of compartment and held him there by the upper arms. “Don’t you ever touch me again. You’ll more than regret it. You have two ladies on this train you seem to care about and if you make one more move against me, you’ll lose at least one of them if not both.” He shoved back on Win once more and then let go. He turned to Fiona and bowed. “Better keep your boyfriend in line, missy, if you don’t want to lose him.” He spun on his heel and headed toward the dining car.

Fiona, her hands shaking, turned to Win. “Are you all right? He was a bit rough, wasn’t he?”

“I’m fine.” Win pushed his hair off his face and glanced down at Fiona. “He’s messed up your hair. Let’s go back inside and fix it.”

“I can do that. You need to get to the dining car and check on Cordelia since that odious man is going that way. I’m worried about her.”

I’m still on my Blog tour. Today’s blog is here: Come by and say hello if you get a chance. I’m being interviewed and it was a fun one!

Here’s where I’ll be and when. I’d appreciate the support if you get a chance. Today’s post is about creativity over at Beyond my Writing Space. I’m chatting about other ways that I’m creative. Maybe some of them are the same as yours.

This week’s fact isn’t a fact at all. It’s a lame joke my dad tells but he said it again yesterday when we were discussing my mom’s birthday dinner. He said she wanted George’s favorite dinner and reminded me of the joke so since I had a very challenging week and couldn’t think of a fact, I’m going to tell his lame joke.

What’s George Washington’s favorite food?

Chicken cacciatore.

Why, you might ask. Well, here’s the answer…….

He led the Revolution in order to “catch a Tory”

Where the chicken fits in, I don’t know since old George certainly wasn’t chicken. Maybe the Tories were?

Anyway, happy weekend eve. As you can probably tell, I need this weekend really badly!

Tuesday Tales- No Post

Badge for TT - very small

This week on Tuesday Tales, instead of a word prompt, there is a a picture prompt and since it didn’t fit into my story from 1937 Europe, I wasn’t able to come up with a scene that would work. Here’s the lovely picture:

My Cat, The Interior Decorator

My cat Hobbes is always up to some kind of mischief. Today, he decided the curtains are not to his liking and he needed to adjust the way they are hung.

Friday Fact- August 9, 2013- V-J Day

The official day that Japan announced their surrender effectively ending WWII was August 15, 1945 in Japan. It was the 14th in the USA since there is a time difference but the war was over either way you look at it. The day is commemorated here in the USA on September 2 and in the UK on August 15.

Today, August 9, is the day that Nagasaki was bombed. August 6th was the day Hiroshima was bombed. These bombs as well as the Soviet Union declaring war on Japan on August 9th were what led the Japanese toward surrender. I always wondered why Stalin left it so late to declare war on them but maybe he knew it was all over after those atomic bombs so it wouldn’t hurt to climb aboard the war wagon with us.

In the USA, the end of the war is celebrated on September 2nd as that is the day of the official surrender ceremony which occurred on the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay but the war was pretty much done in August. President Truman declared September 2nd officially V-J Day.

Here’s the iconic photo from Times Square.
