Fiona struggled with the button, contorting her body in various ways to try to reach the pesky thing. She could get her hands on it but not get it through the hole or she could grab the hole but not the button. She finally gave up and decided that she’d have to let Lucien hook it for her. She knew her mother would think it scandalous that she’d let a strange man touch her in such an intimate way but she had no choice if she didn’t want to show up at dinner half dressed.
She snorted at the thought of that. It was true that she would not be truly half dressed but she couldn’t go to the gathering with her dress unhooked. Besides, the young man said he had a passel of sisters.
She patted her bun, pulled out a few tendrils of hair around her face and nape to soften the look and put on some bright red lipstick. Satisfied with how she looked, she sat to wait for Lucien and think about what may be served for dinner on such a luxurious train. It certainly wouldn’t be the stuff of the food trolleys on the trains at home.
She didn’t have long to ponder. There was a knock at the door that proved to be the steward. He made short work of buttoning her dress. She thanked him and he moved on down the corridor to who knows what duties.
Fiona imagined him walking the hallways looking for damsels in distress. He sure had come to her rescue. She laughed at herself as she made her way to the dining car. She passed a couple of people on the way. She saw no one who she’d met already although she did see the two Turkish men and Jacques, the man who smelled of mints.

Guest Promo- Emily A Lawrence
I met Emily through one of my publishers. She’s on the Secret Cravings side of the house and I’m on the Sweet Cravings side but don’t let that fool you. She’s a real sweetheart and she happens to have a new release. Check it out if you like erotic fiction!
Emily A. Lawrence
emilyalawrence88@gmail.com
Author bio:
Emily A. Lawrence is extremely passionate about fiction. She’s been writing stories, mostly fan fiction, for years now, but only began thinking seriously about publishing approximately a year ago. Encouraged by her family, friends and fellow authors she pursued her dream, and received her very first acceptance in March 2013.
She loves creating new characters and losing herself in their worlds. Usually, she writes contemporary romance in three heat levels: sweet, sensual and erotic. However, she would like to try her luck at other genres one day, such as paranormal or mystery.
When she’s not writing, she enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures, new sceneries, food and meeting new people, or simply reading a good book.
Book title: Hot Dreams of a Lonely Soul – Book 1
Sequel: Hopeful Dreams and New Beginnings – Book 2 (scheduled for August)
Genre: Contemporary Erotic Romance
Book blurb:
Sexy former bikini model Carly Smith chooses to stay away from men after getting out of a bad marriage. Still traumatized by her past with her jealous, abusive ex husband, she is afraid to engage in another relationship, let alone be intimate with anybody. Extremely attracted to him, she finds herself in a delicate situation as he is constantly in her thoughts and haunting her dreams at night, turning her entire body into a time bomb of need, ready to explode. Each time she wakes up disappointed and alone, craving for his touch, but lacking the courage to turn her hot dreams into reality. What happens when Robert unexpectedly shows up at her door one night? Will she manage to overcome her fears and allow him inside, or will she deny him access?

Friday Facts- May 31, 2013- Fort Montagu
Fort Montagu is the oldest fort in the Bahamas and was finished in 1742. At the time, the island was under British control and the fort was used to protect the outer end of the island. It had a number of cannons that were used for the purpose.
This fort also was involved a bit in the history of the United States of America when the Continental Congress sent some marines down to capture some gunpowder for the war effort. The governor of the Bahamas was able to keep the powder away from the rebels when the Bahamians retreated to another fort but 46 cannons were captured as well as thousands of round shot were brought back for George Washington’s Army’s use.
I was lucky enough to see this place on my recent trip. I was a but sad about the graffiti etched on the side but our guide said they sandblast the side every few years and start over.

Tuesday Tales – May 28, 2013
Tuesday Tales: The train story continued- this week’s word is library. AND don’t forget to click the picture to link over to the other posts.
Fighting the urge to pinch her nose to stave off the headache Cordelia was bringing on with her incessant questions, Fiona took a deep breath before answering her. “It was an essay on train travel in the twentieth century and was sponsored by this line. They wanted people to write about the changes that had already occurred and what the future holds. I don’t know why they picked mine but they did. I’m supposed to give a lecture as well.”
“That’s very exciting. I can’t wait. Will the lecture be here on the train itself?” Cordelia bounced again. “How did you know all that stuff about them to write such a thing?”
“I work in a library and—”
“Excellent. I love it. You showed the men, didn’t you?” Cordelia clapped her hands. “I bet they thought a man would win. What do you do at the library?”
“I’m the assistant librarian. I’ve been there a couple of years now and hope to be promoted when the current head retires.”
“That’s your life’s goal? To be head librarian?”
“What’s wrong with that?” Fiona stood to leave. There was no need for this socialite who wanted a divorce to insult her.

Friday Facts- May 24, 2013- Columbus’ First Landfall
This will be short and sweet since I’m writing this on my way out of town- well, out of the country even. By the time you read this, I’ll be on a beach in Freeport, The Bahamas. I’m on a cruise with two girlfriends and on Saturday, we’ll be in Nassau. I hope to go to the straw market there. It’s a fun place to look at island stuff.
Anyway, you came here for a Friday Fact didn’t you? So, here you go: Did you know that Christopher Columbus first landed on a Bahamian island when he sailed the Ocean Blue in 1492, not the mainland of the USA? Yep, he did. He named it San Salvador but the natives called it Guanahani (which is interesting to me because in Spanish, guano is the name of seabird and bat droppings. That makes me wonder if this particular island was infested with birds). He explored several more Bahamian islands before setting sail again.
The next stop for old Chris was Cuba (where some of his men discovered natives smoking tobacco and decided that was a good plan) and then Hispaniola which the natives called Haiti. To his dying day, he thought he found a gateway to the Far East and not a New World.

Tuesday Tales
The word of the week was Bite for Tuesday Tales. My story is a new one I just started recently and so far, it doesn’t have a name. It’s set on a luxury train in Europe and takes place in 1935. Remember to pop over to the other tales by clicking on the icon. There are some great things going on over there. See what you think:
Fiona, appalled by the man’s lack of respect for his spouse opened her mouth to say something, thought better of it and bit her tongue as she turned to move back to the bar, still seeking that glass of gin.
Someone grabbed her arm. Fiona whirled around. It was the woman, Cordelia. “Do please ignore the ogre in the corner. I’m famished for both scintillating company and some food. Please. Sit. Let’s order a bite to eat and forget this man exists.”
“I’m afraid he doesn’t like me.”
“Pshaw. Barry doesn’t like anyone. Ignore him.” Cordelia pulled out a chair for Fiona and practically placed her in it. “I’ll call a waiter over. What do you want?”
“A gin and tonic please.” Fiona resigned herself to sit with the effusive Cordelia and her anti-social husband. How they ever married was a mystery to her but she guessed it was some kind of arranged thing by their parents.

Cover Reveal- It Only Takes a Minute
I have a new story coming from Sweet Cravings that is book one in a series of three with the same hero and heroine. I’m particularly attached to these characters since the hero is fifty and the heroine is in her forties. I’m interested to see how that age sells. I’ve read that most readers of romance are older and I wanted to offer something for that audience. I love the way the cover turned out. Being a big fan of fonts, this one made me particularly happy. Dawne Dominique is the cover artist.
